Apple’s MobileMe service has long be subject to the rumors that it would be going free, and they rumblings have started up again. The iLounge blog recently cited a trusted person at a major educational institution who said that the school could not purchase any new MobileMe subscriptions. Apple says that they are in the process of revamping it, but are asking that people try the free 60 day trial instead of purchasing a subscription. They are saying that the service may be “quite different”.

MobileMe currently costs $99 a year, and was originally released as a service called .Mac, which replaced the old iTools service. The MobileMe service syncs bookmarks, contact information, and calendar information to a cloud. All of that information can then be accessed on any Mac powered device including iOS devices.

Some recent moves have also pointed to MobileMe becoming a completely free service, including the allowing of remotely tracking and locking down iOS devices as well as the ability to have an @me.com email address. Both of these features had previously been only available to paying customers, but were then turned into free of charge services.

This seems to leave recent paying subscribers in limbo, as they paid the full $99, and might now be transitioned into a free service. The iLounge source claims that Apple will still support the old version, but it would seem senseless as the new version would be fully free. So, unless the version has significantly less features than the current MobileMe, there may be a lot of disgruntled Apple fanboys (and girls).

A more conceivable guess would be that Apple’s new version of MobileMe would still have a pay for premium plan that would offer more or higher end features, or both. Higher amounts of storage and more advanced features will mostly likely stay on premium plans for a while until they are not so fresh or coveted anymore, and then go free.

In a huge announcement on Sunday, March 20th, AT&T released that they had acquired T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom. The German company will be receiving $25 billion in cash and $14 billion in AT&T stock, giving Deutsche Telekom an 8% stake in the company.

T-Mobile USA customers currently total up to 33 million, and will be added to AT&T’s humongous user base to create a large mobile phone company servicing about 129 million people just in the United States. Their numbers now tower over Verizon’s 94 million subscribers.

This deal will worry antitrust regulators for reasons other than the subscriber count, however. With AT&T and T-Mobile USA being the only two GSM phone carriers in the United States, there will only be one once the deal is completed. This gives AT&T a complete monopoly on the phone standard, and is definitely something to worry about in terms of pricing.

T-Mobile customers wanting 4G connections will definitely benefit from the deal, though, as their carrier only runs on HSPA+, and has no plans on upgrading to real 4G technology. HSPA+ generally measures up to 4G speeds, but lacks the infrastructure to handle a full network load like 4G technology offers. These customers will not have to worry any longer.

This deal announcement follows right on the heels of the rumors stating that Sprint Nextel was getting ready to make an offer for the company to Deutsche Telekom, who had been reportedly unsatisfied with T-Mobile USA’s recent performance. They were reportedly interested in public offers that would result in the company spinning off, but obviously have taken a liking to this private offer.

This deal has been agreed upon by both company’s boards, but has to go through the regulatory approval process still, where it might get held up due to the monopolization of the GSM carrying business, as discussed earlier.

Marriage of commercial interests of Nokia and Microsoft has been talk of the town for a fairly long period now. Nokia joined forces with Microsoft in an attempt to regain ground lost to the iPhone and Android-based devices. Everyone is waiting for the outcome of this grand union—Windows 7 based Nokia phone. Now the million dollar question in this billion dollar deal is—What is the USP of this new Nokia phone that will lure customers?

Well the company claims that if you enjoy gaming than this phone is a wonder machine. Export gaming is gaining popularity very fast and this phone will bridge the gap between demand and supply. This phone will help establish direct interaction between connect and phone. This means one can play a game when somebody is interacting with the TV using connect, and someone else is interacting with them on phone. So export gaming is a big plus in this phone.Another feature that will set it apart from other windows phone is Internet explorer 9 browser. This browser is dubbed as next generation of what the Internet is going to be around. The Nokia Windows Phone 7 will feature Ovi Maps as its core service for mapping. The new phone will be high on multitasking. Somewhat critical missing features such as copy-paste will also be added to the platform. The platform will also support CDMA, so Microsoft can expand into more markets. This Nokia Windows Phone 7 will also boast of MS Office and Xbox Live.

Apart from the regular features , Nokia and Windows claim that the most important thing about the phone is that it is going to be wrapped up in a package which is much easy to use than the most smart phones. Microsoft Windows Phone 7 will help you have a supreme business application by simplifying your daily work life, increasing your productivity by enabling you to work faster and more reliably.

I am an old internet phone service user. Ever since the launch of this service, I have tried many service providers and each had its own limitations. I always found something missing with every phone service provider I subscribed to. I kept on finding a better phone service until one day I found Axvoice. A lot of my inner circle friends and family members had been using this service and they always tried to convince me. I was so busy in testing other services that I could not earlier use this phone service. I will discuss the different reasons in detail which solidly convinced me that I must switch to this phone service and leave the search for a better VoIP provider for good.

The first thing that I always look in an VoIP phone service is the voice quality that it is capable of offering. I first tried Axvoice at my friend’s house during a party despite a lot of noise in the background and I called many phone numbers. The voice was very clear and despite of all the disturbances I could easily converse with the phone user at the other end. I never had to make any extra effort to make myself heard to the person on the other end of the phone.

Calling plans can be an important consideration but often people neglect it altogether. Few of the internet phone services offer different calling plans. Ordinary phone users often want to have a phone service that is not only capable of addressing all their calling needs but is also able to fit in their pocket. Offering a variety of calling plans means that customers of different affordability can utilize a service. I found a lot of different calling plans offered by Axvoice. They offer different calling plans for the home phone users. Some plans specifically target the phone users with domestic calling needs while the other plans target phone users with international calling requirements.

Once I am satisfied about the voice quality and the calling plans, the next thing that I want to have in my phone service are the service features that it offers. When I look at the service features, I just don’t fall for the number of the features offered and would also advise you not to count them. See if the service features offered are of any use to you or not. I consider service features so important because they not only help me save more on cost but also assist me in deriving more utility out of my phone service. Axvoice offers different advanced calling features to its users which enhance their phone usability. Some of the highly desirable phone features that Axvoice provides include; blacklisting, call forwarding, online account management, anonymous call rejection, and find me follow me etc.

Axvoice passed all my litmus paper tests in flying colors and I did not find any problem using it. Lastly, I was a bit skeptical about its reliability, but I have been using it for the last one year now, and always recommend it to other people.
