Apple’s iPad 2 tablet, the second generation iPad is ready for grabs. Well, don’t be impatient; you got to wait for a few days before you can really hold it in your hands. First let’s see what apple has learned and improved since its first iPad was launched in April 2010. Apple has billed the iPad 2 as slimmer, lighter and faster than its predecessor.
First thing that you’ll notice is that the iPad 2 is 33 percent thinner and 15 percent lighter than the original one. So it feels even more comfortable in your hands and makes surfing the web, checking email, watching movies, and reading books so natural, you might forget there’s incredible technology under your finger.
Apple claims that it is completely new design way ahead of its rivals. It is dramatically faster. It has dual core A5 processor, which delivers twice the processing power of the original iPad. When it comes to graphics performance it is even nine times faster than its earlier version. It has two cameras—one on the front and one on the back. They are designed for Face Time video calling. You can switch to the back camera during the video call and share what’s going on around you. Rear camera can capture 720p HD videos. Led-backlit 9.7 inch glossy multitouch display wide screen will support up to 1024x 768 pixel resolution.
Even with the new thinner and lighter design, iPad 2 has the same amazing ten hour battery life. The power efficient A5 chip keeps battery life from fading away. iPad 2 will go on sale in the The US on 11 March, followed by 26 other countries, including UK, on 25 March, In the United States, pricing will remain the same as for the first iPad , between $499 (£305) and $826 (£505). Other countries are also expected to retain their original pricing models.
